FINDING A
WAY THROUGH
JOCELYN BYSTROM
As part of this journey, I began a local watercolor course in February—a birthday gift to myself. This course deepened my skills and expanded my capacity to express and process through art.
My work reflects my commitment to health, creativity, and resilience. Diagnosed with FND, I prioritize all aspects of my wellbeing to live with increased capacity and navigate life with hope and balance. Creating allows me to release and process tough experiences, transforming how I understand myself and my journey.
FiNDing A Way Through is a thematic representation of a deeply personal part of my story. Spending time in nature—walking, hiking, and exploring the North East Woods in Comox, B.C.—has become a cornerstone of my healing. These moments of peace and calm, observed through all my senses, inspire my creative process. Through photography and watercolor, I capture the essence of these experiences and the valued shift I’ve made to foster wellbeing while navigating FND for life.
